Happy Holidays 2017

Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy New Year!! Here are my Happy Holidays 2017 wishes all in one.

Last IGC post for 2017

This will be my final post for the holiday season and the year. I will be too busy making new memories with my family and friends that have ventured up into the cold weather to spend time with us for Christmas and New Years. If you enjoy reading my stories/memories and want more, go back through the blog to see if you missed some of my first posts.

I know this year Christmas is very different for those folks still back home who are without power or water. I hope that they will celebrate this year with a newfound appreciation for life’s smallest gifts. Thankfully some traditions are still being carried on like the boat parade on waterfront and new traditions are being implemented like Miracle in the Garden (hosted by Senator Sarauw).

Island Gurl Happy Holidays 2017

Hopefully, everything will be back to normal and the celebration will be even greater than previous years, during the next holiday season. Be thankful for all you have this year and especially for the fact that you still have life.

To all my fans and readers, I leave you with one of my favorite holiday songs that can be heard throughout the islands every December and hope that your holiday is filled with much good cheer…..

Holiday Song – Mama Bake Yo Johnny Cake, Christmas Coming

Mama, Bake yo johnny cake, Christmas coming (clap, clap)
Mama, Bake yo johnny cake, Christmas coming (clap, clap)
Christmas coming (clap, clap)
And New Years Coming (clap, clap)
Christmas coming (clap, clap)
And New Years Coming (clap, clap)
(REPEAT ALL)

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy New Year, and Happy Kwanzaa or whatever it is that you celebrate, HAPPY -Insert Holiday Here-, from your favorite island gurl.

I’ll be back in 2018 with more fun and engaging stories, stay tuned!!
